Hello! My name is Danielle Place and I'm a graduate from the University of South Dakota. I received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary and Special Education in 2011 and completed my Master of Arts degree in 2012. I have also worked at Excel Achievement as a tutor for elementary and intermediate grade levels. I'm originally from Norfolk, Nebraska but currently live in Harrisburg with my husband, Geoff, our son, Asher, and daughter, Delaney!
During my time as a Coyote at USD, I was a member of the Swim/Dive team as a middle-distance freestyle swimmer. This allowed me to travel to many parts of the United States - something I love to do! My family and I are VERY big Nebraska Cornhusker fans and we enjoy going to many football games together. Some of my other hobbies and interests include: reading, baking, painting, relaxing with a movie, swimming, and shopping.
This will be my seventh year teaching in the Harrisburg School District and I couldn't be more thrilled! I started working at Freedom Elementary as a 5th grade teacher, taught as a 4th grade teacher for four years, and am returning for my third year of 5th grade.
I look forward to an outstanding year full of new challenges and discoveries and cannot wait to share, learn, and enjoy
the school year with all the kids!
